NOTE: We highly recommend to not use DISCO's self-ingest feature to:
- load more than 10GB of data in a single ingest session
- create a new database
- ingest documents with load files to an existing database (that is, documents produced from, or pre-processed in, another e-discovery tool).
*DISCO recommends using the self-ingest feature to load 10GB or less because 'http' is not ideal for larger ingests because of timeouts. THIS IS IN NO WAY A "DISCO ISSUE".
Please complete a New Matter Form to create a new database, or an Add Data to an Existing Matter Form to initiate processing of load file data. You can send your load file data via FTP or hard drive. Contact email@example.com for more information.
Native documents (that is, original files not already produced or pre-processed in another e-discovery tool) may be uploaded directly to an existing database.
Navigate to the top menu Ingest > Ingest Natives. Drag a ZIP file into the upload interface, or browse for the ZIP file. (You must first place the documents in a ZIP file to upload them.) DISCO will validate the ZIP file and then allow you to select a custodian to assign to the documents (or create a new custodian) and select any tags you'd like to assign to the documents. You can also optionally name or describe the ingest.
To assign multiple custodians to the document set, place each custodian's documents inside a top-level folder named for that custodian. DISCO will attempt to automatically match the name of the folder with the name of an existing custodian, or you can create a new ones.
Click the Ingest button to begin uploading the documents. (Do not close your browser window or shut off your computer during the upload). When the upload is completed, the documents will begin processing automatically (you may close your browser window when the upload has completed). You can track the status of document processing on the Ingest screen, and you will be notified on the notifications bell when the processing has completed (you will also be notified by email, with an exception report attached). Click Show new documents on a particular ingest session to view all of the new documents ingested in a particular session.
From the Ingest screen, you can download an ingest report for a particular ingest session, selected ingest sessions, or for all documents ingested so far.
