How to ingest your data using an FTP client

If you need to ingest your files via FTP, you'll need to choose an FTP client. We recommend you use FileZilla, but if you are unable to use FileZilla, try WinSCP.

Ingesting using FileZilla

  1. Go to FileZilla's website and download the client. Install the client on your computer.
  2. In DISCO, find the FTP connection information specific to your review database:
    1. In your database, select the main menu (top left) and click Ingest.
    2. In the top right corner, select New ingest, then Send to DISCO Client Success, then FTP.FTP_info.gif
    3. If your ingest page doesn't look like the one above, select the blue Ingest button, then View FTP upload instructions:image__2_.png
  3. In the FileZilla client, add the protocol, host, username, password, and port to connect to our server.
  4. Submit a new data form. If you had any connection issues, please let us know so someone can contact you to resolve them. In the form, include:
    • If you had any connection issues, so someone can contact you to resolve them.
    • What file type(s) the majority of the files are in. This will help us provide an accurate ETA.
    • What the overall size of your ingest is.
    • How many container files are included in your ingest session.
    • What your review timeline is, so we can help you strategize with document tagging, culling, and production.
  5. In FileZilla, drag the data you want to ingest from the left column and drop in the right column.Screen_Shot_2019-02-28_at_4.13.09_PM.png
  6. Depending on the size of your data, the upload process may take hours.

Ingesting using WinSCP

  1. If you can't use FileZilla and you are on Windows, download WinSCP.
  2. Once downloaded, unzip the download and double click WinSCP.exe to open the program.
  4. In the WinSCP client, add the protocol, host, username, password, and port to connect to our server.
  5. Submit a new data form. In the form, include:

  7. Depending on the size of your data, the upload process may take hours.
