When an ingest is complete, DISCO generates up to three reports: a full ingest report, an exception report, and a transferred files report. If there were no exceptions (errors) associated with the ingest, you will only have the option to download the full ingest report and the transferred files report. The transferred files report describes what documents were uploaded for ingest.
The DISCO Professional Services team can help you troubleshoot any issue related to ingesting data in DISCO. When submitting a new native or load-file ingest, on the Ingest options page, make sure the Send exceptions to DISCO Professional Services for review (recommended) option is selected.
Once all data has been uploaded and ingested, the DISCO Professional Services team receives the exception report and uses a number of proprietary tools to remediate exceptions. The DISCO Professional Services team will create a saved search in the database, which contains all documents that have exceptions. Before undertaking any billable work, the services team will confirm that remediation work should proceed on the included documents.
The DISCO Professional Services team commonly assists with many types of exceptions, including:
- Encrypted or password protected files
- Corrupted files
- Unsupported files
The Ingest options step of native ingest includes an exception (errors) handling option.
- Send exceptions to DISCO Professional Services for review (recommended). – Any errors generated during your native file ingest will be sent to DISCO Professional Services to be addressed and remediated, if applicable. Additional charges will apply.
- I will review the exception report and remediate any exceptions as necessary. – Any errors generated during your native file ingest will be your responsibility to address. You can view these errors by downloading an Ingest Exception Report and following DISCO’s suggested remediation steps as outlined in Identifying ingest exceptions and Remediating ingest exceptions.
