Hidden Content
DISCO provides the ability to display hidden content when generating a document's Near Native view.
Some new options are coming for Excel, Email, and PDF, identified with an * asterisk below.
Word Documents

Show comments |
Comments are text fields made by users and displayed to the right of the document. |

Changes are deletions and additions to a document, indicated by strike-throughs and underlines and color-coded by author. |

Hidden text is text that is formatted with the Hidden font option enabled. |

Show invisible text |

Replace auto-fields |
Auto-fields, or field codes, are text fields that are automatically updated by Word. When this setting is enabled, the auto-field name is displayed instead of the calculated value. |
PowerPoint

Excel

Email*
Emails can contain embedded HTML references to external files. This is the standard approach for showing photos or other content from the internet. When these emails are opened, the files are automatically retrieved and their content is displayed in the body of the email. Since almost all email users view these references as part of the email, most clients (including DISCO) will, by default, display this content; however, there are some scenarios where users would not want this content rendered.
One area of concern with this behavior can be "tracking pixels" - invisible images that are used primarily for marketing purposes to identify when an email is opened. By logging when and from where an image tracking pixel is requested, marketing systems can identify when an email was opened and by what IP address. To prevent this behavior, all external content must be blocked from being rendered. This blocking is what causes the below behavior in Outlook.
DISCO has included the ability to prevent this behavior by not rendering these external images. When this option is selected, ALL external content within emails processed this way will be represented by a red X filling the area of the image.
