DISCO generates identification numbers to help you understand family composition. These can be added to your custom view.
- Family ID: shared by all members of a family, always equal to the document ID of the family's head parent.
- Parent ID: populated only for attachments, showing the document ID of the attachment's parent.
- Attachment ID: populated for parent documents, listing the document IDs of all immediate children.
When you download a document list export, family ID, parent ID, and attachment ID are included for each document. This is useful for keeping families together when analyzing data outside DISCO.
