DISCO's spreadsheet viewer renders Microsoft Excel files in a spreadsheet-like environment with the following features:
- Resizing columns and rows
- Moving between tabs within a spreadsheet
- Selecting individual cells to see text and formulas
- Wrapping text within cells for better visibility
- Hiding charts and images to reveal underlying data
- Searching cell contents and cell formulas
- Viewing search term and global highlight hits within the spreadsheet
Opening the spreadsheet viewer
In the document viewer, click the Spreadsheet tab to switch from the near-native image to the interactive spreadsheet view.
Data is laid out in a traditional lettered column and numbered row format.
Navigating spreadsheets
Use the scroll bars to move horizontally and vertically. Resize columns and rows to focus on key information.
Move between tabs within the same spreadsheet by selecting tab names at the top left of the viewer.
Visibility options
Two buttons above the document let you hide floating charts and images and wrap text within cells.
Click Hide floating charts/images to remove charts covering underlying data.
Click Turn on auto text wrapping to wrap text that extends past cell boundaries.
Viewing formulas
Select a cell to display its underlying formula in the upper-left section of the viewer, below the tab name.
Searching within spreadsheets
Global term highlights appear within the spreadsheet view. For example, adding "Total" to the Global terms list highlights every instance in green.
Search hits from the search bar are also highlighted. DISCO displays the total number of hits and highlights them within cells and formulas.
You can also search within the current spreadsheet using Ctrl+F or Cmd+F, or the magnifying glass icon. DISCO locates and highlights each instance and provides navigation arrows to move between hits.
DISCO searches both cell contents and cell formulas, provides hit counts, highlights terms, and lets you navigate hit to hit with arrows.
DISCO also identifies search terms within floating charts and images, highlighting the chart with a blue border when a hit is found inside it.
