DISCO gives users the ability to upload and ingest Slack export data directly into your Ediscovery review database through either self-service tools or by sending via high-speed uploader to DISCO Professional Services.
Self-service ingest for Slack export data
-
Export data directly from your Slack Workspace
- The exporter may need to be a Workspace Owner/Admin, Org Owner/Admin, or a member with Export Admin privileges to see the export feature within Slack Settings & Permissions
- Select an export date range or schedule an export frequency
- Slack may only allow an export to be generated once per hour
- Download the Slack export
- In DISCO Ediscovery, navigate to Ingest > New ingest > Slack > Exported ZIP file to begin the Slack export ingest wizard
- Within the ingest wizard, select the Slack ZIP file (not an unzipped loose file folder)
- A Slack-specific ingest option will be available to either download or not download attachment files from the export. Downloading attachments will increase the billing size of the ingest.
Note: Slack Workspace exports include links to private file URLs and thumbnails that have a special token attached for access. On the Slack exports webpage you may revoke the tokens at a later time (e.g. after an ingest is completed) for added security of your message history.
