Overview
Enhanced Matter Navigation allows you to move between Ediscovery and Case Builder without leaving the matter you are currently working in.
From within a matter, you can:
- Open Ediscovery.
- Open Case Builder.
- Switch between review databases.
- Create a review database or case database when one does not already exist for the matter.
The navigation options available to you depend on your assigned permissions and the products enabled for your organization.
Navigation
Open a Matter by navigating to a review database
- In the top left hand corner, click on the navigation menu.
- From the navigation menu, you can select a different review database (if you have more than one), or select Case Builder to open your case.
If there is no existing case associated with the Matter, you’ll see a button to "Add case."
Select Add case to access Case Builder
Note: The Add case button is only available if you have permission to create a case.
Open a Matter by navigating to a case.
- In the top left hand corner, click on the navigation menu.
- From the navigation menu, you can select Ediscovery to open the review database (or hover over Ediscovery to see multiple review databases).
If there are no existing review databases, you’ll see a button to "Add review database."
Select Add review database to create a new review database.
Note: The "Add review database" button is only available if you have permission to create review databases.

What happens if I don’t have access to Case Builder?
If you have permission to create one, you’ll see “Add case” while working in Ediscovery. If Case Builder is unavailable for the matter, contact your Org Admin or DISCO Support to request access.

Why can’t I see all review databases?
You only see the review databases you have permission to access.
Can I switch between multiple review databases?
Yes. If you have access to multiple review databases within the matter, you can switch between them using the navigation menu.
Why is a navigation option unavailable?
A navigation option may be unavailable because:
- You haven’t been assigned access to that database.
- The database doesn’t exist yet for the matter.
- Case Builder isn’t enabled for your organization.
- You don’t have permission to create the missing database.
