DISCO validates load files for structural errors before initiating the ingest process. An initial validation happens at the beginning of transfer and then a final validation runs after all files are transfer before beginning ingest. If the load files fail validation, then the ingest card displays a downloadable validation report containing details of the failed validations.
To download the validation report for a failed ingest, on the Ingest page, on the ingest session card, click Download validation report.
The validation report contains a Summary tab and, depending on the type of validation error, a Data Load File tab, an Image Load File tab, or an Unreferenced Files tab.
The Summary tab contains a description and counts for each failed load file validation.
For each failed validation, the Data Load File and Image Load File tabs contain samples of the rows in the respective file that failed validation.
The Unreferenced Files tab includes a list of all files that were uploaded but were not referenced by a load file and therefore were not ingested.
Validations help decrease the probability that a load file ingest will have exceptions, but they do not eliminate the possibility altogether.
