DISCO transcriptions convert audio and video files into searchable text directly in the document viewer. The transcription identifies up to ten distinct speakers and supports files up to four hours in length.

How to transcribe a file

In Search and Review, locate an audio or video file.

Open the file and click the transcriptions button in the document viewer.

Click Transcribe in the transcription panel.

When the transcription finishes, results appear in the transcription panel. You can leave the document viewer while a transcription is in progress without losing any work.

Q: Do transcriptions involve extra costs?
A: Transcriptions are offered to DISCO Ediscovery customers at no additional cost.
Q: What data spaces are transcriptions available in?
A: Transcriptions are available in Active Review.
Q: Who can use transcriptions?
A: All user roles have view and manage permissions by default. Review managers can change permissions for custom roles.
Q: What file formats can be transcribed?
A: Any file that DISCO recognizes as audio or video may be transcribed.
Q: What is the maximum file length?
A: Files up to four hours in length can be transcribed.
