Overview
DISCO now supports multiple formats of Bates numbers. Users can ingest these new Bates formats into DISCO, as well as search, filter, and sort by these new formats.
You can now create productions stamped with page-level or document-level Bates numbering using the new options offered under the Stamps section. This enables users to easily meet various production specifications by utilizing the customizations offered in the productions module.
How to Use
When creating a new production on the Create Production page, there are new options listed under the Bates Stamps section.
Page-level numbering assigns one Bates stamp per page in a production. This is the numbering currently offered by DISCO.
Document-level numbering assigns one Bates stamp per document in a production. When utilizing document-level Bates numbering, users can choose to include a page suffix with a defined suffix delimiter. Additionally, users have the option to start page numbering on the second page.
Dynamic previews change as different options are selected, clarifying exactly what the output will be.
These new Bates numbers and ranges are reflected throughout the DISCO application in the document viewer metadata section, produced views, filter/sort options, and batch print output.
Search for these Bates numbers using existing search syntax:
- BatesPrefix()
- BatesNumber()
If searching for a document that has document-level numbering with page suffixing using the top-level Bates number, be sure to utilize the root expander !. For more helpful information about searching in DISCO, please visit the DISCO Search Syntax Manual.
