Overview
This article explains how Organization Admins manage access and navigate across organizations within DISCO. As an Organization Admin, your experience includes understanding where you land after login, how to move between organizations and matters, and how system status is communicated through banners. Clear navigation and visibility ensure you always know which organization you are working in and what level of access applies.
This article covers:
- Login and logout behavior
- Landing behavior after login
- Navigating across organizations and matters
- Understanding organization context in review and case database
- Interpreting system and suspension banners
Login and logout behavior
You can log in to DISCO via a URL specific to an organization, matter, or database. Or, you can log in from the default DISCO URL: https://login.csdisco.com/.
To log out of DISCO, click the user profile icon and then click Log out.
DISCO will automatically log you out after two hours of inactivity.
Landing on Matters
Upon logging into DISCO, users will land in their organization's Matters page.
If a user has access to multiple organizations, they will simply land in their primary organization represented in their user account settings.
In the image above, you can see that the user is currently on the Matters page for the DISCO LLC organization.
If you are unsure which organization is indicated as your primary, simply click on the user profile icon in the primary navigation to open the Account settings modal. There you will find the organization listed. See image below.
Navigating across organizations
Users will now have the ability to easily navigate across organizations to access their work through the new menu located in the primary navigation.
When clicking the menu, users will see a list of organizations they have access to, in addition to the current organization they are working in.
In the image above, you can see this user is currently in the DISCO LLC organization, but also has access to Cecilia Corp and CS DISCO.
When a user clicks an organization in the menu, they are navigated to the Matters page for that organization. From there, users can quickly access each of the matters they have access to within the organization.
Navigation menus within the review and case database
Similar to the Matters landing page, in the review and case database users have access to a menu in the primary navigation.
By clicking the review database name, a menu will open, displaying the organization and matter information. Simply click the organization to return to the Matters page.
Navigating Within the Organization
Within the Organization Manager, you can access the following sections:
- Matter Overview : View/manage all matters within the organization.
- Organization Metrics : Review usage metrics
- Organization User Management : Add, remove, or manage users and permissions for the organization.
- AI Models : Configure and manage AI models
- Organization Settings : Manage organization-wide configurations and preferences.
These sections provide centralized control over administrative functions at the organization level.
System Status Banners
You may have noticed a big red banner at the very top of your database.
This red banner is displayed to keep our customers informed of when they can expect an outage. The outage is due to one of two reasons: routine maintenance or migrating to a more up-to-date version of DISCO.
Routine maintenance
Routine maintenance is performed to maintain system performance, reliability, security, and stability of the DISCO infrastructure. We will run routine maintenance jobs periodically throughout the life of a database, or when we make a substantive change to our software architecture.
Migrating to a more up-to-date version of DISCO
DISCO will briefly shut down your database to upgrade it to the latest version.
Preparing for the outage
We give our clients one week's notice before a scheduled outage. Each outage usually happens between 8pm-6am.
The red banner will display the outage's start date and a countdown to the exact second it starts.
Rescheduling your outage
Contact DISCO Support. We would be happy to reschedule your outage at a more convenient time. However, there will be times your outage is mandatory and cannot be rescheduled.
