The Matters page is the central workspace in DISCO for viewing all matters within your organization. A matter represents a legal workspace that contains review databases, case databases, users, and workflows associated with a single case or project.
This page gives Organization admins a high-level view of organizational activity and quick access to operational tools.
User can create a matter at top right : Read more about Create Matter
Filters and Search: The filter bar helps you narrow large lists of matters.
Search: Use the search field to find matters by name. Partial matches are supported and results update dynamically

Created Date: Filter matters by time range.
Created By: Filter matters by the creator to identify ownership and responsibility. -
Sort: You can sort matters by:
- Matter name
- Alphabetical order (A–Z or Z–A)

Each matter appears as a card summarising key details of matter and it’s components.
Database Details Within a Matter
When you expand a matter, you see all databases linked to it. Each row represents one database and includes the following information.
- ID – A unique database identifier. Read more about ediscovery id
- Name – The display name of the database as shown to users.
- Status – The current state of the database(Active, Vaulted, Scheduled for Deletion)
- Type – Indicate whether the database is a Review database or a Case database.
- Team – The number of users who currently are assigned to the database.
- Last accessed – The most recent date and time any activity occurred in the database. Read more about Last Accessed .
Note: For Review Databases, the data collection began on 09/21/23. Any access before this date is not recorded.
For Case Databases, the data collection began on 09/21/23. Any access before this date is not recorded. - Size – Current usage. The data calculated at the time of ingest
- Actions – Available controls for managing the database
- Edit Review database : Change the display name of the review database.
- Mark as template: Review database template
- Export: Export review database
- Vault: Vault a review database
- Delete: Delete a review and case database
