Is it possible to ingest files in a specific order?
DISCO cannot ingest files in a specific order. However, after ingest, we can overlay an identification field (the reference ID) onto each document. The reference ID can be used to sort your documents in a specific order.
To update your documents with a reference ID, send DISCO support an Excel spreadsheet with the DISCO document ID in one column and the desired corresponding reference ID in a second column.
Does DISCO unitize my documents?
You may need to unitize your documents if you have a set of images in single-page format, meaning that the images are not in document form, but each page of the document is a separate image. These images will have no load file (DII, LFP, OPT, LOG).
Unitization will pull the images together as a complete document, using one of the load file types.
If you have documents that need unitization, contact DISCO support for a quote.
How do I add Bates numbers to the metadata of a document?
The Bates number field in DISCO is populated to reflect documents produced from DISCO or incoming production documents. For DISCO productions, the field is automatically updated. For incoming productions, the Bates field can be updated using:
- A production load file that includes a Bates number fields. This file will be used during ingest to populate the Bates number field.
- An overlay file with Bates information that can be used to update documents already loaded into DISCO.
How does DISCO handle documents in foreign languages?
When a document is ingested, its primary language is identified. A Primary Language column has been added to the ingest report that can be displayed by creating a custom view and selecting the Primary Language option under Metadata.
You can also search for documents based on language, using the primaryLanguage(Language) search string.
How do I create batches in review stages?
Batches are created (materialized) only when you check out a batch. Once the batch is materialized, those documents are part of the review stage and remain so even if the stage source or other settings are modified to exclude those documents.
NOTE: When you check out a batch, DISCO uses just-in-time batching, which means that all of the documents in a stage are not put into batches until a reviewer requests them. This way, any change in strategy in your review does not revolve around lots of deconstruction of batches that have not yet been reviewed.
What does a user see if they don't have permissions?
If a user is assigned to a role that limits areas of the application or actions, they will see a lock icon or other messaging to inform them that they do not have access to that feature.
For example, if a role does not have permission to access term highlights, that option will be grayed out and it will have a lock icon next to it.
Additionally, if a user does not have permission to access a particular action in the document viewer, that action will be grayed out and it will have with a lock icon next to it.
If you see the lock symbol next to an action, view, or option after logging in to your DISCO database, your assigned role does not have full permissions in relation to that action, view, or option. This can only be changed by someone who is a review database or organization administrator.
Can I stop my production while it's still processing?
Yes, productions can be stopped once they have started. Click the cancel icon on the running production card and confirm cancelation.
Canceled productions can still be copied using the Copy from previous production functionality, and they still show in the Productions list. To fully delete canceled or completed productions, click the trash can icon located in the upper-right corner of the production you want to delete.
